ABSTRACT We consider the behaviour of Alfvén waves propagating in a medium with random density perturbations. The imposed perturbations have broad-band spectrum and their characteristic spatial scale may be defined according to peak spectrum. interaction boundary driven generates reflections most efficiently when wavelength is comparable For our monotonic driver, this leads generation quasi-periodic oscillations. periods oscillation no longer only associated driver. Additional periodicities one or more scales profile, beating between other spectral components. Multiple wave cause oscillatory power retained at low altitudes, increasing opportunities contribute heating those locations.
